A backstage pass to a day on tour. Not every day is sunny skies and clean bikes. We are often on the tools servicing and repairing our fleet and customers bikes. After 35 years as a bike mechanic, the most rewarding time in the workshop sharing our knowledge, our customers not only take home memories of the fab rides, we also dig deep in building a full experience helping everybody improve handling, climbing and descending skills, we usually fix bikes alone while clients are on the balcony checking out the view.
Our bikes do a bout 4500km each season and all bikes need at least one full service, chain and cassette, brake pads and rotors, tyres and handlebar tape. We also often tune gears, replace gear cables and true wheels during each day.
More lately we find we are often fixing garmin connections and electronic gear issues.
My advice is travel with us but if not, travel with a somebody who has some mechanical skills.
