Dr. Holly Schiffrin and Dr. Miriam Liss, professors of psychological science at UMW, will present "Let’s Get Happy: The Science of Positive Psychology.”
In this talk, Drs. Schiffrin and Liss will discuss the field of positive psychology and the results of research into what factors do--or do not--make people happier. Variables believed to increase happiness (such as wealth) are not as related to happiness as people might think. The professors also will share specific techniques proven to be associated with increased happiness. Given the increase in stress related to the COVID-19 pandemic, these skills are more important than ever.
