THIS IS THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION...
How to deactivate the anti-theft system on GM cars
1st WAY TO FIX IT
ALL THESE STEPS MUST GET DONE USING YOUR CAR KEY.
1. lock the door
2. unlock the door
3. open it
4. shut it
5. lock the door again
6. wait about 20 seconds
• This will shut the alarm off and reset the system.
7. now unlock the door
8. get in the car and try to start it
2nd WAY TO FIX IT
1. unlock the door with your key, open the door and leave it opened!
2. turn the ignition to the ON position and let it stay for 10 to 15 minutes
3. turn the ignition off and take out the key from ignition
4. after one minute start the car
3rd WAY TO FIX IT
other possible solutions:
1. Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes. If the Theft System light disappear, you might be fine for few days, months, but it will not get rid of the problem.
2. If your keyring is too heavy full of keys, the weight of the extra keys pulls on the ignition key causing the key to be incomprehensible. Removing all other keys from the keyring and let just the car key by itself. This might get rid of the problem.
4th WAY and EFFECTIVE WAY TO FIX IT in its entirety
How to Disable the Passlock on a 2000 Chevy Malibu or GM cars.
ANTI-THEFT LIGHT STAYS ON, THE CAR CRANKS BUT WON'T START. stay tuned because im going to show you how to fix it, the right and cheapest way....
Notice that this is the cheapest and most effective way to get rid of the anti-theft light (around $5) without having to replace the sensor that's connected to the ignition, or the ignition tumbler and key ($400).
This is what happens when your car cranks but won't start:
1. When the anti-theft system light stays on, the fuel pump won't pump and injectors don't activate to prevent theft.
2. Sometimes the GM (General Motor) Passlock system cars have a part around the ignition tumbler that goes bad and no longer detects the valid key, due to "the battery in the key is dead and the chip is not connecting to your computer"
Tools You'll Need:
• Flathead screwdriver to ply off the plastic cover around the switch
• Philips screwdriver to unscrew bolts on the dash
• 10" and 7" sockets + Socket wrench to unscrew bolts
• Toggle Switch ($4 SOLD AT LOWES/HOMEDEPOT/WALMART, ETC).
• At least 14" Wire cable ($1) to adapt to the toggle switch to reach longer distance.
• Cable cutter/stripper
• Tape
For curious folks: If someone tries to steal your car, he/she will not be able to, unless they have the right key plugged in, other ways it will shut off same way. NO WORRIES FOLKS...
Inside this video:
AS SHOWN IN STEP 5-6: if you just cut off the yellow wires in half without using a toggle switch, you will still be able to start the car but the anti theft system light will stay on FOREVER, using a toggle switch ($4) will allow you to enable/disable the anti theft system whenever you choose.
BEFORE YOU START, MAKE SURE YOU Disconnect the negative battery cable. THEN FOLLOW STEPS ON THE VIDEO...
