"We just left the car, we walked inside of the gorge, you know, to prevent or at least make it hard for the cars of the terrorists to go inside and follow us. All of this time, you're hearing gunshots and screaming from afar, and... we saw a police officer after a few minutes walking inside of that gorge. We ask him - listen, what's happening? Where is your commander. He told us his commander and his whole squad is here fighting with terrorists, we just go as far as we can as fast as we can. And that's what we did. And we walked for around three hours, like 11 or 12 kilometers up until Moshav Patish. And that's the first time we felt confidence, you know, a little bit of safety. We didn't know anything, you know, you have friends here that you have no connection whatsoever. You don't have connection in your phone. You don't know nothing, what's happening."

"I feel I owe them, you know, all the people that were here and murdered - I feel I owe them. I'm alive, I stayed alive - I have to tell their story. Each and every one of them, each of the people that are currently in hospitals, some of them are missing, some of them are there. You know, who knows what situation they're living in right now, who knows if they actually are living? Who knows what's happening inside the strip right now for the hostages, the Israeli hostages? I owe them, really."

STORYLINE:
Israel’s military allowed journalists on Thursday into the site where Hamas militants killed 260 people at a music festival near kibbutz Re'im.
One of the survivors of the massacre, Peleg Horev, who worked at the festival as a bartender, said he was only able to survive because his car was blocked and he had to escape on foot.
Most of the attendees trying to escape in their cars were shot at roadblocks set up by Hamas militants.
"We just left the car, we walked inside of the gorge, you know, to prevent or at least make it hard for the cars of the terrorists to go inside and follow us," he remembers, adding that his party walked for three hours before feeling safer.
Peleg said he felt an obligation to those who perished and were held captive to tell their stories.
