Does a prepared civilian really need body armor??
Yes…but also no…it’s complicated.

I believe that there are a ton of things a person should focus on before deciding to invest in a plate carrier and rifle plates.

This includes your physical fitness, proficiency with your weapons, medical, movement, and knowing how to properly use cover and concealment.

On the list of things that can make you “hard to kill”, I believe armor to be towards the bottom, as there is nothing more cringe than a fat person in the latest and greatest Gucci plate carrier.

But if you do have those other aspects squared away in your personal development and training, I do think that armor can be useful. Especially since it’s a convenient way to carry your ammo/medical, with a slight added level of protection.

Today I’ll be going over the armored loadout I have ready to go at my house, if I needed to respond to anything around my property.

This is not necessarily what I’d throw on if something went “bump in the night”, or my “go to war” loadout, but rather what I use on a regular basis to patrol around my land (usually on a quad).…It’s also just fun to throw on your kit and rip around on a 4x4..

I live on 400 acres of private property, which is often intruded upon by hunters/poachers, so to me the armor makes sense in an area where people are likely to have rifles.

I suppose you could call this my “property/homestead defense loadout”…but it’s really just unchecked weaponized autism on 4 wheels…
