The Federal Government has assured that it will not sign any document that will affect the country.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Idris, stated this at a briefing over the weekend.
Mr Idris clarified that there is a law against "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender" (LGBT) in Nigeria, and the Federal Government would not go against the law.
He said, "The President and this administration will not in any way sign anything that will harm our nation. So all those clamouring that there is a signature out there that gives away our country as LGBT compliance country or seeking to do that is mischaracterization, misrepresentation.
The Federal government insists that our laws and traditions will be respected.
