Chris Turpin from the band Ida Mae guest hosts this episode of "Off the Wall" showcasing a 1974 Telecaster Custom through the fuzzy tones of a 1950's National Valco Chicago 51 Amp! Introduced in 1972, this version of the Telecaster Custom featured Fender's newest pickup, the Seth Lover designed "Widerange" Humbucker in the neck position. The combination of a traditional Tele bridge pickup with a humbucking neck pickup allowed for a versatile array of sounds and this model soon became a permanent part of Keith Richard's arsenal with the Rolling Stones.
This fully original 1974 example features a natural finish over an ash body with an intricate grain pattern, maple neck, and black pickguard. Much lighter weight than many 70's Teles, this guitar is acoustically very resonant and both pickups are strong when plugged in. It includes the original Fender hardshell case.
