청와대 민정수석에 김영식 전 靑법무비서관
President Moon Jae-in has appointed Kim Young-sik as his new senior secretary for civil affairs.
Kim is a former secretary for legal affairs under the Moon administration and was a judge prior to that.
The Blue House said Monday that Kim is expected to carry out duties including completing state tasks related to reform based on his high level of understanding of government administrative policy.
He will begin the role on Tuesday.
President Moon gave his verbal approval before he left for his overseas trip.
The appointment comes as the job had been vacant for the past month after the former secretary resigned over a scandal involving his son.
