A few years before and even now at some forums, I saw this discussion of waiting for 3 days before introducing any new food to babies. The rule says it is necessary to continue to offer the same food for 3 days at the same time and observe for any allergies and then proceed with new food.
Reasons it doesn’t hold good anymore:
1. Research says babies can be introduced to all foods in the first year of their life including the allergens, having a family history. This is because there are very minute chances of it affecting the child now, than when offered it post a year. Hence the allergy issue is taken care of and to be on a safer side you can introduce the allergens in the morning and observe for reactions.
2. Babies’ taste palettes are very strong and may get bored of the same food on a daily basis, especially during the introductory days, and hence it’s necessary to offer varieties from day one of solid introduction.
So all the best for your weaning journey.
