Indian oil giants Bharat Petroleum Corp. and Hindustan Petroleum Corp. are poised to discuss a bonus share issue on May 9. In separate filings with stock exchanges, the companies revealed that their boards are slated to meet on May 9 to discuss and potentially greenlight the distribution of bonus shares. Should the proposal get approval, it would signify the first instance in seven years that both oil companies have opted to issue bonus shares.
