On Friday 13 March 2015, the Rt Hon Anne Milton MP, delivered an Open Lecture on the role of the Whips in Parliament, at the University of Surrey.
She discussed the history of the Whips office, the day to day activities and the popular perceptions of the role.
Open Lectures form part of the services provided by Parliament for higher education, and are aimed at staff and students from universities across the UK. Open Lectures cover a wide variety of subjects about Parliament and its work.
