China’s Golden Week– a holiday week of travel and family time– saw over 600 million people travel this year, a sign that China has achieved some sense of a new normal.
Tourist sites, hotels, and restaurants were bustling with thousands of travelers, bringing China a big boon of almost $70 billion USD in consumer spending over a few short days. Although these last few months have been challenging, China’s successful Golden Week has shown the world that life can get better.
