Engine Shut Down Nashville plane crash kills five (ATC)
Date: Monday 4 March 2024
Narrative:
The pilot of a Piper PA-32RT-300T Turbo Lance II reported engine problems and got a clearance to divert to John C. Tune Airport (KJWN), Nashville, Tennessee. A short time later the pilot radioed that he was unable to make it and then crashed just off Interstate 40 behind the Costco shopping center, about 3 miles south of the airport.
The five occupants perished and the aircraft was destroyed by a post impact fire.
