With the rise in popularity of sound suppressors, as well as pistol and SBR configurations, an adjustable gas block has become a common fixture on many AR-15s. It's also a necessity if you shoot a lot of different types of ammo - the AR-15 being sensitive to differences in gas flow generated by different ammo. Riflespeed's Gas Controls adjustable gas block makes it easy to change the gas flow in few seconds. This low-profile gas block slips over the barrel and snugs down over the gas port via a setscrew in the bottom or, for added security, a roll pin. The big difference from other adjustable gas blocks is the adjustment SLEEVE on the FRONT of the block that lets you literally "dial up" as much or as little gas flow as you need. Extra benefit: you don't have to worry about having the correct Allen wrench so you can adjust your gas block. The Gas Control is a great option on an AR where the front of the handguard is just behind the gas block. If your 'guard extends over the gas block, Riflespeed has Gas Controls with longer adjustment sleeves so a quick change of gas flow is still easily within reach. These blocks do require special gas tubes; don't worry, Brownells carries those, too.
