Replica (レプリカ, Repurika ?) is Yūma Kuga's guardian and is a self-described as a "Multi-purpose Trion Soldier" (多た目もく的てき型がたトリオン兵へい, Tamokutekigata Torion-hei ?) created by Yūma's father, Yūgo Kuga.

Replica resembles a rabbit head and is black in color. It has two white slits for eyes and a thin purple line of light across its body resembling a mouth. It also has two appendices on the top of its body which resemble rabbit ears, and two other, foot-like appendices on the underside of its body, which seem to serve as landing support, but were never seen in use, as Replica is always floating or flying, aside from the one time he was confused with a rice cooker by Shiori Usami (presumably to nod to the fact that he was modeled after Daisuke Ashihara's rice cooker)

Replica was created by Yūgo Kuga. When Yūgo told Yūma to stay behind, Yūma decided to go anyway, but Replica said he shouldn't, to Yūma replies by saying he'll go unnoticed. Replica is the one who told Yūma to come to the Human World to see his father's friend. His real motive was to do something about Yūma's dying body.

Replica is first seen in Chapter 1, after Yūma is hit by a car. When Yūma was asked where he lived, Replica gave him the address. He then says that if he keeps getting hurt like that, his body will be severely damaged, and Yūma tells him that if he worries too much, that'll happen again. Replica then tells Yūma he's 25 minutes late for school, to which Yūma replies in disbelief, saying it's impossible. Yūma then asks Replica if he can use his trigger, which Replica denies, saying he's the one who decides when Yūma can use his Trigger. Yūma then says he's gonna leave, and Replica says he should be careful with what he says. Later, when the Bamster attacks the bullies that were bullying Yūma and Osamu, Yūma asks again if he can use his Trigger. Replica allows him, again saying Yūma's the one who decides when he can use his trigger.

On the next day, while Osamu explains Yūma on how not to gain attention, Replica tells Yūma that Osamu is right and getting attention from Border would not be good for him. Before Yūma challenges the Bullies in the school's roof, he says Japan is very nice to mean people, and Replica says it's because there aren't many people doing bad things.

Analysis
(アナリシス, Anarishitsu?) Replica can analyze things of unknown nature and reveal their composition in relation to Yūma's Black Trigger.[2] It is also capable of measuring Trion levels by visualizing it as a cube

(スモール アバター, Sumōru Abatā?) Replica can break itself down into smaller Replicas that have the same functions, though they are inferior in quality. They can be used as portable communicators. At most, it can create 200 if the functions were cut down to conversation and transmitting over the comms

(ブースター, Būsutā?) Replica has jetpack-like engines in its rear which he can use to travel at high-speeds, rivalling that of Chelidon

Yūma Kuga
Replica is Yūma's guardian, so it is very protective of him. It also frequently gives Yūma advice and helps him in battles.[citation needed]

Osamu Mikumo
Like Yūma, Replica trusts Osamu. It serves as a link between the two of them, and like it does with Yūma, it frequently gives Osamu advice and sometimes helps him in battles

Yūichi Jin
Jin respected Replica, calling him Professer (先せん生せい, Sensei Lit. Teacher ?), a title reserved for teachers, out of consideration for the vast amounts of knowledge Replica brought with him. Jin blames himself for Replica's abduction during Aftokrator's Invasion, and has promised to make it up to Osamu and the rest of Tamakoma Second

Yūma is shorter than the average for his age range. He has white hair and red eyes. It is later revealed that his hair was originally black and his body had stopped growing since he was 11 years old because it was made out of trion, thus explained his short stature[5].

He wears a blue suit top and gray bottoms traditional of Japanese high school students. When not in his trion body or school uniform, he usually wears a purple hoodie with a paw symbol and the text "UMA" (which stands for "Unidentified Mysterious Animal"), and beige baggy jeans pants.

In Black Trigger mode, Yūma gains a black jumpsuit which Replica can fuse itself with. In C-rank trion body, unlike most other trainees, he gains an all-black uniform, instead of the classical all-white one; it has a black jacket with thick white stripes running down from the sides of his collar to the sides of his sleeves and also around his collar and thin gray stripes in the borders of the zip fastener and collar.
