The Reaper has done it! Cybernetic Crescent has been overtaken as my favourite List Demon!


I used to play The Reaper right after it got verified and uploaded to the servers and god was it bad. The level was stupidly unbalanced with the first half being infinitely times harder than the 2nd part. You couldn't get to the 36% wave often because of how shit the pre-drop was and when you got there you'd die at 38% almost every single time. On top of that the level was extremely poorly optimized (didn't change after the update though). I stopped playing it after having the level done in two runs (52% + 50-100%) as it was one of the most unfun levels to play to date.

When kyhros announced that an update was going to be verified by Teno I was extremely delighted to see that every single bad aspect about the gameplay of the first half got rebalanced to feel much more fair. The only thing that needed to be done was an actual LDM which I did and got accepted to the List. After some days I took the level on and my god the level is great it is so much better than I thought it would. I knew I was going to beat that level fast and on Day 1 of coming back to it I got 64%, then on Day 2 I fluked to 93% from 68% which didn't make me mad to the slightest as it was a blast to play that level.

I've gotten quite unlucky then as I went stupid and died at every spot in the 2nd half possible including eight deaths at the last part. It didn't piss me off and after dying three times at the last part (94, 91x2) I beat it. Honestly, if I could name two thing that annoyed me about the level it has to be that the 36% wave is much harder than the rest of the level and that 52% is pretty hard to pull of from 0 and frustrating to die to. But apart from that, the gameplay is super enjoyable (especially the 2nd half), the song is an absolute banger... everything is great about this level. Rightfully so, The Reaper earns my first 10 out of 10 ranking for enjoyment, it is that good and I highly recommend people to play that level.
