South Africa's pension fund system has been ranked 27th in the Global Pension Index report.
The Mercer CFA institute global pension index has recommended that South Africa must ensure that more low-income earners have some form of a retirement fund. As well as making sure that pension fund members preserve their pensions when they change jobs.
