CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Cincinnati Police Department was getting calls from all over the country because of a Facebook post by a police officer, telling black men that white cops were looking for a reason to kill them.

It was after the police-involved killing of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge that Cincinnati police officer Freddie Vincent warned African-American friends and family to make sure they were in a public place and comply with all demands of white police officers because they were looking for a reason to kill a black man. FOP President Dan Hils said many officers, active and retired, expressed extreme concern about the post. The police department would only said it was investigating.

Defense attorney Mike Allen was a Cincinnati police officer, "I can certainly see why white police officers would be upset by something like that. That's why this police officer’s rights are not as strong as ordinary citizens. He's part of a department organization that protects the public."

To put it simply, Cincinnati officers can't post anything that hurts the department.

Mike Allen said police all over the country were finding that out, including a Detroit detective the previous week, “Last weekend a detective said things about Black Lives Matter, Chief Craig demoted him from detective to patrol officer."

"I think the officer is out of line to point to the direction of race of an officer, that violates the fraternal order." Pastor Tait said it was not out of line to tell young black men to comply with police, "To tell black man to follow protocol, that's words of wisdom. I would share it with any black man I meet today."

Officer Vincent asked to be moved out of District Five. Some police officers wanted him fired. Others said it was a Freddie problem. He had a somewhat checkered history with the police department.

Vincent became a police officer in 1995. A few years later he was fired after he was speeding in Butler County and didn’t have a driver’s license. He later got his job back. Vincent’s personnel jacket had several cruiser wrecks, a dishonesty, a failure of good behavior; but in 2007 he saved the life of another police officer. Vincent shot someone who was getting ready to shoot another officer in Roselawn.

The investigation was ongoing.
