The Humpy fly is a classic pattern that is super high floating. It has withstood the hand of time and continues to be a regular in many Fishermans fly boxes. It can be tied in a number of different colors and is a really beautiful looking fly when tied correctly. However it is rather difficult to tie. No question it is not the easiest fly in the world, in fact I would say it's one of the more difficult ones to tie. It does take a while to tie, and is prone to making many mistakes, but once you tie them correctly, they will be very rewarding. I really like how high floating these are, they can hold up heavy weighted nymphs with ease, and handle floating down swift riffles without sinking. Especially when you add floatant to it.
