The instruments used are ancient Greco-Roman instruments, but this is by no means an archeological rendering of ancient roman music. I use chords and triads in parts of the music, which is basically projecting modern Western composition techniques onto Greco-Roman music, which is generally thought to have wandered somewhere between monophony and heterophony, and the use of chords back then is not accepted by all academicians.
