This Master's research project provides an alternative approach in extracting and reconstructing 3D dance motion data from 2D videos without depending on motion capture technology by introducing an enhanced 3D keyframe animation motion extraction and reconstruction method in Autodesk 3D Maya.
This approach also aims to reduce the animation production costs and improve the level of automation without sacrificing controls from the animator as it enables the animator to extract, store, and reconstruct 3D motion data between 3D character models.
