Replaced my old contractor saw with a SawStop ICS, without increasing floorspace. This required cutting the fence rails shorter and not installing the left wing. With these reductions I still got a table 8 inches deeper, and 10 inches wider than my old saw, and a cutting width of 24 inches. The SawStop is safer and higher quality than my old saw.
As shown in the video, the abrasive cutoff disc is a rough cut. If I was doing it again I would rent a metal chop saw with carbide toothed blade to cut the rails, or modify the woodworking miter saw as shown here: [ Ссылка ] Others have used a Sawzall with hacksaw blade, to cut the rails, and report good results. A high tension hacksaw frame such as Lenox HT50 with bimetal blade could also be used.
