This piece is part of what makes the heart and soul of the Your Lie in April series. It was known as "Spring's Melody" when it first aired, but quickly became known as "Friend A" instead. However this is quite confusing, as there is another piece titled Friend A (or Yuujin A, if you will), while this one is actually called "Yuujin A-kun wo Watashi no Bansousha ni Ninmeishimasu", a quote from the series where Kaori appoints Friend A to be her accompanist. That is the main reason why I went with "Spring's Melody" for the this track title on my album, as I already have Friend A on it and I like to keep the titles as short and derivative translations of the original titles (few actually have localized titles).

This piece symbolizes Kaori and spring in many ways, as it plays across pivotal moments in the series. Distinct, with embracing string sweeps, and a simple but strong piano melody playing over it. This is my shot at replicating it, and considering how rarely I deploy strings, I'm quite happy with the result. I hope you like it! The color change I added during the video is meant to symbolize the coming of the colorful spring, led by Kaori's strings, disappearing at the end and leaving the lone piano.
