Learn the technical aspects to master the legendary Feather Step in Slow Foxtrot!
"Hi guys, welcome back to our channel. In today's video we'll be demonstrating the Feather Step for you in the Slow Foxtrot. We'll be demonstrating this as a couple, individually both as man and lady and we'll be going over the footwork as well at the end of the video. Jumping straight in with our preparation steps and our Feather Step, Slow Quick Quick. That is the standard timing for the Feather Step. Slow Quick Quick.
Rotating to the right, rotating to the left for our wind up and then unwinding to the right.
It's important to note that we are commencing in closed position on step one of the Feather Step, dancing through with a side lead on step two and stepping outside partner on step three as you can see there.
Now for the lady's steps. Slow Quick Quick. It's important to note also that the direction of the Feather Step is technically line of dance (LOD) but it is more commonly danced diagonal center.
And one more time from the lady's perspective.
Slow Quick Quick.
You can see here that Talysa's body rotation unwinds smoothly across all steps and is maintained by the end. And now for the man.
And slow quick quick.
As this is a swing dance the feet will remain in contact with the floor at all times, sliding.
And one more time for the man.
And now the lady's footwork. Inside edge of foot for the two side steps, toe heel, toe heel, toe heel, toe heel.
You can see that there is no foot rise here, it is Toe Heel across all steps.
And now for the man's footwork. Inside edge for the two side steps and Heel, Heel Toe, Toe, Toe Heel. And one more time from another angle."
