Three-time WNBA champions Minnesota Lynx will play a preseason game in Rochester's Taylor Arena Sunday, May 8. The announcement was made at today's news conference featuring Lynx Coach Cheryl Reeve and Lynx star and Minnesota native Lindsay Whalen, along with Chris Wright, Lynx and Timberwolves president, and Dr. John Wald, who is medical director for Mayo Clinic Public Affairs. Mayo is a presenting sponsor for the event, which falls on Mother's Day.
After the news conference, Reeve and Whalen went to visit patients at the Mayo Clinic Children's Center and 17 year old Brooke Phillips had a chance to hold one of their championship rings.
