The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) has asked the Electoral Commission to consider local bidders for the UGX 77 billion ballot paper deal.
An investigation by PPDA indicates that the Electoral Commission unfairly eliminated local printers in the deal.
PPDA Executive Director, Benson Turamye, told NTV that the Electoral Commission is expected to give some of the work to local printers because PPDA found that some local printers have the capacity and experience to print ballot papers.
Acting Spokesman of the Electoral Commission, Paul Bukenya says that the EC technical team is now studying the PPDA recommendations to see the way forward.
