When does Archaeology become Grave Robbing?
The modern academic discipline of archaeology grew out of the passion of the 18th and 19th century for the Classical Age, and during those early excursions, those who dug for the past had little compunction about the manner in which they rifled through the soil or about keeping items for themselves afterwards. Though archaeology is now practiced with ethical and legal protections, a closer examination shows that the echoes of the past are never far away.
