100-year-old Holocaust survivor Margot Friedländer has spoken about the last words she heard from her mother during a speech at the EU for International Holocaust Remembrance Day. She urged young people not to forget the Nazi genocide.
Friedläender told the silent chamber of lawmakers of her experience, first in Nazi-occupied Berlin where she was separated for the last time from her family then in the Theresienstadt concentration camp.
