Supporting Schultz's statements, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson announced the first Starbucks store in Seattle to test cashless payments. After analyzing consumer behavior, Starbucks executives have noticed a drastic increase in mobile payments. Johnson reports that U.S. mobile payments have grown over 30% and China mobile payments have grown over 60% in the last five years.
