Professor Hicks begins the second half of the course by turning from the traditional subjects within philosophy of metaphysics, epistemology, human nature and ethics to introducing seven bodies of thought--idealism, realism, pragmatism, behaviorism, existentialism, Marxism and postmodernism-which have all had a significant influence on thinking about education and teaching.
