The permanent mold process is known for high quality surface finish, repeatability, high precision, easy secondary machining, and low-porosity. Dense permanent mold castings are ideal for pressure-tight vessels, food and medical equipment, and reliable heavy machinery.

Compared to die casting and sand casting, permanent mold is best for moderate volume production (500-10,000 EAU).
