Very often in my practice lot of patients come to me or patients relatives come to me and sit in front of me and they feel hesitant to use the word cancer. In those conditions we use the term tumor. So what is tumor? Tumor is a simple term use for an abnormal growth in the body, which may be a cancerous or may not be cancerous. There are multiple terminologies in medical terminology that are used to express the same thing. Now in medicine we may say malignant tumor for a cancer, malignancy or cancer, there are times when we tell neoplasm. “Neoplasm” basically mean a new growth.
