World Alliance Of Qara’im (Karaites) – Weekly Torah Study – Behar – Sat 21 May 22

This Shabbath, the World Alliance of Qara'im will be holding its weekly Torah study hosted by Hakham Melech ben Ya’aqov. Join us for an exciting and interesting Torah study from a Karaite point of view.

What is the World Alliance of Qara’im? The World Alliance of Qara’im (WAQ) is an internationally-based group of dedicated Karaites established in 2010 and committed to steadfastly upholding the principles of Karaism. Unlike certain Karaite groups which have, sadly, given themselves over to compromise with the Rabbanites (Rabbis) or Christians, the WAQ has never – and never will – concede any of the basic principles of Karaism. These include adherence to the straightforward (but not literal!) meaning of the Torah, rejection of all false philosophies including Rabbinical Judaism, Christianity / Messianic Judaism and Western subjective morality, and the belief that while Hakhamim can be facilitators in helping people understand the Torah, they are not to play the role of dictator or “Pope”. Rather, it is a basic tenet of the Karaite movement that each person “search well in the scriptures and not rely on another’s opinion.” With that goal in mind, we offer free Karaite / Torah education to all those interested, including in the form of these weekly Torah studies. Time permitting, we will study the Haftarah, Jeremiah 32:6-27.
