Investigators turn to a young mother's journals for answers after she dies unexpectedly with a strange mix of substances in her system.

When police respond to a 9-1-1 call at the home of Maria Muñoz, they discover a chaotic scene: Maria, unconscious on the floor, and her husband, a trained nurse anesthetist, performing CPR. Only hours later, Maria is declared dead.
