Todd Blackledge visited Oxford, MS during week 13 of the 2013 college football season. While there he stopped in at Big Bad Breakfast for his episode of Taste of the Town on ESPN.
"For 7 years, I've waited to do a Taste of the Town in Oxford, Mississippi, one of my all time favorite places to visit. My only dilemma, so many great food choices, but then it became clear. My favorite meal is breakfast, and one of my favorite southern dishes is Shrimp and Grits, and at John Currence's Big Bad Breakfast, it all comes together.
As an appetizer, I went with some Anson Mills Stone-Cut Oatmeal with brown sugar and fresh strawberries. And the shrimp and grits are very unique. The grits are topped with two eggs cooked to order, chopped tomatoes, and big bad Tabasco bacon that's smoked in house, and it's all covered by a homemade red eye gravy.
Hotty Toddy? Oh Yeah!"
