Belonging to Mr. Ed King, this beautiful 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard model is a perfect example of a sixties 'Burst. The bright cherry sunburst finish has a vibrant look that really makes the tightly flamed maple cap pop. Loaded with it's original PAF humbuckers the sound is what we're all looking for in a humbucker loaded guitar, powerful and throaty neck pickup with a tight and clear bridge pickup that balance perfectly in the middle position. The dark Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard has some light wear on the board itself but the original frets still have plenty of life and really compliment this guitars slimmer profiled neck.
The finish is checked throughout with some belt buckle rash on the back of the guitar above the control cavity. The finish on the neck has faded some but overall the wear is minimal. There was minor touchup around the edges of the guitar. The harness was replaced with one from 1959 complete with original bumblebee caps (original caps are included). The new harness functions as should and the pots have a great taper with no noise. There are new tuner buttons and the original case is in wonderful shape. Check out the video of Ed King below demoing this great guitar through an original blackface Fender Deluxe Reverb with a BPC Tone Bender pedal.
