Former US President Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday (July 13, 2024). The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified a 20-year-old, Thomas Matthew Crooks, as the suspect who tried to attack Trump with an AR-15-style rifle from a nearby rooftop. The investigative agency also found some bomb-making materials from the gunman's car. However, his motive to attack the former US President remains unclear. While police apprehended the suspect, some of Trump's political allies are blaming the Democrats for the incident.
