This is a variant of the 1964 Louis Marx & Company toy Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots... as designed by the creative talent at Marvin Glass and Associates.
The game allows the child and/or adult player to manipulate levers that control the arms of their robot to deliver punches that, when landed on target, will knock the robot's block off to win the round.
The robot's head or block is then returned to its spring-loaded locked position and the match continues.
This game of painless simulated violence allows human Philing children to develop hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity while "blowing off some steam."
