JURUPA VALLEY - On September 4, 2019 at 2:07 am CalFire-Riverside was dispatched to the area of Mission Blvd and Crestmore rd. area in regards to a brush fire in the river bottom.Upon arrival fire units noticed rather large flames coming from the river bottom in heavy brush and large pieces of what appeared to be wood debris. Fire crews had to hike in on foot with hoses due to the unacceptability for there fire engines.
This river bottom is known for many homeless encampments, unknown as to how the fire started. No homes were endangered.
Fire crews made quick work of the fire and will remain on scene for overhaul
