There is a vast amount of advice on the internet that one should not get a PhD in computer science. And while in most cases I think that advice is correct there are a select few who should really consider getting one. The future researchers of our generation. Sure, they are probably so wickedly smart that they would never waste their IQ taking advice from the internet, or are they? People are still human and I think that sort of mentality shuts people off when they see all the advice to avoid even trying for a good PhD program. I would rather send a message of empowerment that people should try to pursue meaningful research and if along the way they don't like it or can't get into a top program the worst that could happen is they take a six-figure starting salary at a top tech company. Oh no. So even if you seek advice on the internet, you still might have it in you, and you should pursue that 1% because we are young, and smart, and now is the time to pursue the crazy stuff.

ABOUT MY CHANNEL:
On this channel, I am tracking my data science and computer science journey. I make videos reviewing the courses I take, and covering projects I complete. I also document my weekly progress on whatever I am doing at the time. The value you get from my channel is the dirt perspective of a student grinding away at programming as opposed to the top-down view of someone who is already a software engineer. I am a student at Seton Hall considering a transfer to a better computer science program, if you want to progress in your journey alongside me be sure to subscribe!
