Spring Lake and Grand Haven High School Sailing Teams. Practice on Tuesday September 12, 2017 in light conditions. First day focusing on roll tacks. Drills included: figure 8, pac man, cone drill, tack/jibe on the whistle.

Pay attention to timing (roll later than you think you should!), sail trim (trim main, backwind jib, and don't let the jib luff), communication between skipper and crew so that the pair stays in sync, keeping the boat flat going into the roll, and be careful not to oversteer.

This was a good first roll tack practice but we have a lot to work on!
