Keir Starmer was a human rights lawyer who was born in a small town near London. He was the first member of his family to go to university and studied law at Leeds and Oxford University.
Since 2003, he started taking part in government roles and by 2013, he handled many cases related to human rights. However, his entry into politics happened in 2015 when he became a Member of Parliament, and in 2020, Keir Starmer also became the leader of the Labour Party.
In this election, his party won 412 out of 650 seats, while Rishi Sunak's Conservative party won only 121 seats. As the Prime Minister, he now wants to improve UK-India relations and plans to form a new partnership with India.
He also mentioned that he aims to eliminate Hinduphobia in the UK and will celebrate festivals like Diwali and Holi.
