I’ll show you how to make a classic vanilla base, and then we’ll get creative with three fun flavors: strawberry, chocolate, and mint chocolate chip. These recipes are perfect for a hot summer day and are sure to be a hit with family and friends.
Ingredients:
2 cups of heavy cream
1 cup of whole milk
three quarters cup of granulated sugar
1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Strawberry Ice Cream:
1 cup of fresh strawberries, pureed
Chocolate Ice Cream:
one half cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream:
1 teaspoon of peppermint extract
one half cup of mini chocolate chips
A few drops of green food coloring (optional)
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and salt. Whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add vanilla extract and stir.
Divide the mixture into three bowls.
For strawberry ice cream, stir in the strawberry puree.
For chocolate ice cream, whisk in the cocoa powder until smooth.
For mint chocolate chip ice cream, stir in peppermint extract, green food coloring, and fold in the mini chocolate chips.
Pour each mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20-25 minutes).
For a firmer consistency, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for a few hours.
This homemade ice cream is not only delicious but also easy to make. Perfect for cooling down on a hot summer day!
