Moraine Lake glacier water lake in Banff National Park, AB. It's 14 km from Lake Louise. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 1,884 meters. It's normally closed from October long weekend to early June because of Avalanche hazard.
We visited the lake in the first weekend when it opened so the lake was partially frozen and all the snow wasn't melted. I would recommended to go once the snow is melted for the best view of the lake. You can also canoe in the lake.
It's famous for it's sunrise view. There are so many trails starting from the lake and the larch valley trail is so famous to see golden larches in fall season. You have to be there before sunrise to parking in larch season. It's around 2.75 hours drive from Calgary, AB.
