Recently-divorced Phil Potter (Burt Reynolds) doesn't really know where he stands in his own life. And when it comes to Marilyn Holmberg (Jill Clayburgh) it's clear he's no better at letting those he cares about know where they stand, either. This Oscar-nominated rom-com (Clayburg and co-star Candice Bergen) was directed by Alan J. Pakula and written by James L. Brooks. On a trivia note, Best Actress-nominated Jill Clayburgh wore this dress to the Academy Awards ceremony that year.
