Busted display plexi-glass, laser with no emissions and belts on their last legs.
The display I have already done. I removed front panel and undid the display board. As expected, someone forced the glass and broke its mounting - which was only some kind of brittle glue. I used a hot glue gun which at least will gibe a flexible, rather than brittle bond.
Removing the front panel has given me easy access to the front of loader and the turntable lifter belt replacement should be much easier than from the top.
Maybe I will make another video showing how it is done. A lot of them are now due for service.
I tried to adjust laser power and got the player to read TOC on a good CD. Sadly, I only can measure 50µW, which is half of what is needed and no further adjustment can be made. Maybe it is only a busted potentiometer?
We will see.
