The Touhou 6 soundtrack, but it's the MIDI version played with the Edirol SD-90.
"What if ZUN was way more lazy when he had to re-record the soundtrack with the SD-90?" I edited the MIDI files so that they can play natively on the SD-90. I took some creative liberties when it came to choosing sound banks. I also removed most vibrato effects because they sounded very weird.
For those who don't know, Touhou 6 comes with two different soundtracks: the "WAV version" that you hear in-game by default, and the "MIDI version" that you can enable in the game's settings. The MIDI version can sound very different depending on what instrument data you use. Most people will hear the songs playing with the default Windows soundfont, "MSGS". With enough technical knowledge, it's possible to play the MIDI files with whatever instrument data you want! In this case, I thought it would be interesting to find out what it would sound like if we used the same instrumentation that was used in the final soundtrack. Some songs sound very similar to the final product, while others have interesting differences!
This video was made using Domino (MIDI editor), OBS (Video recording software), Godot (Video game engine, used it to create the video's visuals) and Blender (Video editor).
