50 Speed Picking Guitar Licks You Must Know
[ Ссылка ]
Vai-ing My Time is inspired by Steve Vai. The lick utilizes the sweep picking technique and quickly shifts positions and includes ascending and descending glissandos. The lick is not only technically challenging but adds a unique melodic depth with the literal stacking of 5ths throughout.

50 Melodic Rock Licks You Must Know
[ Ссылка ]
Sometimes it's just more than the actual melody. Sometimes it's really about how we play it and the techniques that we use that really bring the line alive. There are a few "desert isle" guitar techniques that should be in any guitarist’s toolbox no matter what style you are playing. Slides happen to be the one we will analyze in this lick. Notice that the melody stands on its own merit, but with the addition of a little slide magic, there is an element of excitement that now permeates the riff. It’s little things like this that we as guitarists can add that while it may not to seem that big of a deal at first, can really get things rolling and take the melody to another level. Some key things to watch in this technique is that when you are doing those wide slides for effect that you practice stopping at the correct note and not passing it by as it is very easy to do. Have fun!

Here's a great way to turn a pentatonic scale into a concise melodic phrase. You'll be using position shifts and hammer-ons to create a really smooth line and then capping the run off with a lick straight out of the Steve Lukather playbook.

Lick 5 - Purple Maze - Jennifer Batten
50 Ultra Intervallic Guitar Licks You Must Know
[ Ссылка ]
This phrase is designed for the "Hendrix " chord i.e. dominant 7 #9. I play the E minor pentatonic, but also add a major 3rd to those notes. That gives you the major/minor bluesy combination tonality. There are also a load of perfect fourth intervals. It ends of the #9 tone.
