I had the distinct honor of catching this graceful aircraft. As you know, the 744 is beginning to retire. And that statement... I just can't believe it. I have to be perfectly honest. I remember when Lufthansa brought their 744s to LAX and BA's too. Now, they just vanished, like nothing at all happened. I also heard that Delta will be retiring four of their 744s starting just next month. It pains me to see that my favorite airplane is going to be gone in a matter of a decade, maybe even less. If I had one wish, one that truly was valid, I would wish for every single PAX 744, when retired, to be converted to a freighter. Saying that a plane can't fly anymore, is like saying to a human, you can't live anymore. Planes were meant to fly. I know I can't do anything about it, but I felt like saying it, just to get it out there. This might be the last time I may ever film a BA 747-400, I might never know. And with this little eulogy of Boeing's most beautiful creation, I want the world to know that at least one person out there will dearly miss the 747-400. Right now, could be the best time to say goodbye, because you never know how fast time flies.
If you, when the moment arrives, will dearly miss the 747-400, say it in the comments. I know I am stressing this topic more than I should, but I have never felt more pure joy next to any other airplane.
Thank you for reading, I am truly grateful.
