What is a pentascale?
A pentascale has a five-note pattern.
Pattern for a major pentascale: W W H W
whole step - whole step - half step - whole step
You can form a major pentascale starting on any note.
If you play the third note of a major pentascale a half step lower, the result is a minor pentascale.
Pattern for a minor pentascale: W H W W
whole step - half step - whole step - whole step
You can form a minor pentascale starting on any note.

1:02 E Minor - right hand
